Linda Harris

Recently several people have asked me who I had learned from regarding the amazing repair of Sonny’s feet. I have previously put this link in a blog post plus it is on my Links Page, but I’m happy to add it again & again because this lady really does exceptional work regarding the research, understanding, exploration & detailed examination of the equine foot.

Linda Harris is from USA & has been exploring the anatomy of the equine hoof for several years. She has many 10’s of very informative videos on youtube plus a yahoo group where people can ask questions, post photos & get Linda’s help to re-establish hoof health to their equine friends.

Linda has developed a hoof mapping method to establish the position of the internal foot so that the correct shape of the outer capsule can be regrown around the inner foot. It is called the ACT method (The Anatomically Correct Trim) & is based on Gene Ovnicek’s hoof mapping method.

Linda has worked out that the majority of horses have run forward toes & heels which have to be fixed & because the outer capsule is only a covering for the true internal foot. It is that which must be accurately mapped so the external capsule can be regrown to have the tightest connection between laminae & hoof wall with a shape complimentary to that inner foot. Following her method will enable a person to correct a distorted hoof & then to maintain that new healthy hoof.

Along the way Linda is out to debunk all the myths, innuendo, misinformation & downright lies taught & perpetrated about the hoof to save countless horses from a life of painful misery & to save the lives of as many horses as possible that would otherwise be destroyed in one way or another due to the misunderstandings of the roll & interconnectedness the internal & external feet play in the body part called the equine hoof.
